Sanctuary of Madonna del Frassino
The Sanctuary of Madonna del Frassino is one of the most evocative places of worship near Peschiera del Garda. Built in the early 16th century following a Marian apparition said to have appeared among the branches of an ash tree, the sanctuary was erected as an act of thanksgiving and soon became an important pilgrimage destination. Its peaceful setting, reached via a tree-lined avenue, offers a quiet oasis just a few minutes from the town centre.
Inside, the sanctuary houses valuable works of art and a precious statue recalling the miracle that led to its foundation. The building, shaped by expansions and restorations over the centuries, retains an elegant Renaissance harmony. A Franciscan convent and cloisters stand beside the church, enriching the visitor experience with a unique blend of spirituality, history and art.
