28. Railway Bridge

The railway bridge connecting the Milan–Venice line, visible today in its reconstructed form, was severely damaged by bombings in 1944. Originally built during the Habsburg period, it represented a state-of-the-art engineering work for its time: the upper level was reserved for railway traffic, while the lower level allowed the passage of carriages and pedestrians.

Numerous photographs of the bridge before its destruction can be seen on the information board at Bastione San Marco or at the Museum of Fishing and Local Tradition, which preserves documents and testimonies about its history.
