Public transport in Peschiera del Garda

Autobus in Peschiera del Garda

From Peschiera del Garda, three different bus companies operate services connecting the town to the main destinations around Lake Garda and nearby cities.
In general, services run more frequently during the summer season, while in winter the number of buses decreases and some stops are not in operation.

For this reason, it is always advisable to check the updated timetables before travelling.

The LN026 line operated by Arriva Brescia connects Peschiera del Garda with Sirmione and Desenzano. Buses stop in Via Venezia, at the harbour, in Via Milano and in San Benedetto.

The timetables refer to the harbour stop in Peschiera, but the bus also calls at the other stops along the route.

During the peak season, the bus generally runs every hour at 55 minutes past; in certain periods an additional service is added, increasing the frequency to every 30 minutes. In the summer months, most buses do not enter the historic centre of Sirmione, stopping instead in Colombare, from where you can continue by shuttle bus to the old town.

In winter, the LN026 line normally reaches Sirmione town centre, with services every hour at 55 minutes past; on public holidays, some departures are reduced and the service may operate only every two hours.

From Peschiera, the line then continues towards Desenzano, providing connections to the western shore of Lake Garda.

To reach Verona from Peschiera del Garda, two main bus lines are available: LN026 and 164 ATV.

The LN026 line operated by Arriva Brescia stops at San Benedetto, Via Milano, the Harbour and Via Venezia. During the summer season, the bus generally departs from the harbour every hour at 45 minutes past; in winter, on public holidays, the service may be reduced and buses run approximately every two hours.

The 164 line operated by ATV departs from Peschiera railway station and connects Peschiera with Verona approximately every two hours. On public holidays, the number of services is significantly reduced. During the summer, the last bus back from Verona is around midnight. This line terminates at Piazza Bra, near the Arena di Verona.

To reach Lazise, Bardolino and Garda from Peschiera del Garda, two bus services are available.

All year round, the 164 line operated by ATV runs from Peschiera railway station. In winter, on public holidays, the service is reduced to just three departures per day.

During the peak season, the 483 line operated by ATV is also in service, stopping at San Benedetto, Via Milano, the Harbour and Via Venezia. This line runs hourly, providing frequent connections to the towns along the eastern shore of the lake.

To reach Malcesine from Peschiera del Garda, the 483 line operated by ATV runs during the peak season, stopping at San Benedetto, Via Milano, the Harbour and Via Venezia, providing a direct connection.

In winter, there is no direct service. You need to take the 164 line to Garda and then change to the 484 ATV line to reach Malcesine.

To reach Valeggio sul Mincio and Mantua from Peschiera del Garda, the 46 line operated by APAM runs throughout the year. This service does not operate on a regular hourly schedule and, during the summer, the number of daily departures is very limited. Buses stop at the railway station, the harbour and in Via Mantova.

During the peak season, the 482 line operated by ATV is also in service, providing hourly connections.

To reach Verona Valerio Catullo Airport, the 482 line operated by ATV runs hourly during the peak season.

When this service is not operating, you need to take a bus or train to Verona, and from Verona Porta Nuova station a shuttle to the airport departs every 20 minutes.

To reach Gardaland, a free shuttle runs on all days the park is open, departing from Peschiera railway station from half an hour before opening until half an hour after closing.

If you prefer not to depart from the station, you can take the 483 line operated by ATV (peak season only), which stops hourly at San Benedetto, Bella Italia, the Harbour and Via Venezia.

All year round, the LN026 line operated by Arriva Brescia connects Peschiera with Sirmione and Desenzano via San Benedetto. It stops at Via Venezia, the harbour, Via Milano and Bella Italia.

To reach San Benedetto di Lugana from Peschiera del Garda, during the peak season the 483 line operated by ATV is also in service (as previously described), and at certain times, the 482 line operated by ATV is available as well.

Boats and ferries from Peschiera del Garda

From Peschiera del Garda harbour, it is possible to reach all the main destinations around Lake Garda by boat. This is one of the most enjoyable ways to travel across the lake, avoiding traffic and parking issues.

The service generally operates from March to October, with some lines running even during the Christmas period. Both fast boats and traditional ferry services are available.

Connections to Sirmione have only a few departures each day (usually two or three) and operate exclusively during the peak season.

Single tickets or combined tickets can be purchased directly at the harbour ticket office, which opens about 20 minutes before each departure.

For a complete overview of connections and to check the latest timetables, it is recommended to refer to the full guide on Gardavisit.

Trains from Peschiera del Garda

The Peschiera del Garda railway station is the main transport hub for Lake Garda. It is within easy walking distance from the historic centre and the main bus stops, making it simple to combine train travel with other public transport to explore the lake and its surroundings.

Trains run approximately hourly to the main destinations in Northern Italy. Both regional trains and high-speed Frecciarossa and Frecciargento services are available, with regular departures to Verona, Milan and Venice. Desenzano del Garda, the only other town on the lake with a railway station, is also well connected from Peschiera with frequent trains.

Tickets can be purchased directly at the station, on the Trenitalia or Trainline website. It is recommended to always check the latest timetables before travelling and to be aware of possible strikes, which occur approximately once a month on Fridays.
